SPORTS
All football players there will be a brief meeting today at break in the gym classroom.
Tonight, your senior boys’ basketball team hosts a seeding game for the provincial tournament that takes place next week. We take on the Leboldus Golden Suns tonight at 8pm. If you want to decompress a little after a rough week of school work, come by Riffel at 8pm and make some noise!
Last night your Junior Girls basketball team played the Leboldus Golden Suns in the City Finals. The girls played hard and with a lot of heart and with a lot of heart. They played till the last second but ended up coming up short. The Leboldus Suns took gold and your girls took silver with a final score of 77-53 for Leboldus. Top scorer of the game was Kelsey Sinnett with 13 points. Congratulations to the girls for a great season!
Last night your Junior Boys basketball team battled the Balfour Redmen for the 2010 City Championship. The boys played with great intensity on defense holding Balfour to only 23 points in the first half. However, the shots never seemed to fall for your Royals throughout the hame and they ended up coming up short in the end and took the silver in a 69-53 loss to the Redmen. This loss gives your Royals a total record of 25 wins and 6 losses on the season with 1 city silver metal, 1 tournament championship, 1 2nd place tournament finish and 2 3rd place finishes. Congratulations on an excellent season gentlemen!
A special thank you to all the fans who came out last night to cheer on your Royals and to all fans who supported the boys throughout the year. The season would not have been the same without your support and cheers.

Travis Gerwing scored both goals in Riffel’s 2-1 win over O’Neill. With the win the team will be playing in a semi final today at 4:15 at the Balfour arena. I need to see all players today at break in Room 112.

Hey Riffel, this Thursday we will be having a twin day grab a friend, and dress to match each other. Best twins will receive a prize. Dress to Impress. And a group photo on the pyramid stairs for everyone dressed up!!
Assembly band practice today after school.
Attention all grade 12’s. There will be sizing for grad wear starting at 12:30 till 1:00 everyday this week in room 130. Forms will be available in the office as well as room 130. All money will be due back on March 17.
